What's Happening in Grade 6!
We have been very busy with a novel study of "Underground to Canada" as part of our "Black History Month" theme. We will be wrapping this up next week with a final project and we will be watching the movie version of the novel!
The Grade 5 and 6 classes together have begun an exciting unit based on the hit reality show "The Amazing Race". We are watching the episodes together in class and then completing various tasks based on the culture, history, events of the countries and cities they visit. Of course, along the way we're discussing stereotypes, strategies, communication etc. It should prove to be a fun learning experience for everyone!
The Grade 6's are going skiing at Asessippi from February 22nd - 24th and we're all really excited about this!! Pictures and updates to follow!
Lots of fun and fellowship was had by all during "Catholic Schools Week" including bingo, St. Emile's Best Dance Crew, Hoops for Heart, and a sock-hop!
